Psalm 24 tells us: "The earth is the Lord's and all it's fullness the world and those who dwell therein. For He has found it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters." It can be hard sometimes to understand why, if the Lord is the master of the world, that it is so dark and evil. The short answer to this is found in Ephesians 2 where we see that currently Satan is operating as the Prince of the Power of the air and he works in the "sons of disobedience", those who are not redeemed followers of Jesus Christ. Because of the Fall recorded in the Bible in Genesis 3, Satan is currently at work in the world and leads the majority of those on earth to do his evil wishes as they follow their own wicked desires. All of that, however, will someday come to an end when God judges and re-asserts His authority here on earth.
In Revelation 10 we are reminded of this reality and the timing of when He will judge. We are reminded of God's great power and majesty, His authority over all, and the terribleness of this coming day.
